ebay banning yaoi?

This is so crazy, they specifically name yaoi in their "restricted adult items policy" as being not allowed:

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/restricted-adult-items-policy?id=4278

They're defining nudity as including "male erections, even if the model is clothed" as well which catches a TON of BL even non-explicit ones.

I've never been a super heavy user of ebay but it's always been a good place to look for out of print manga so this is really messed up and seems very discriminatory.

This does feel highly discriminatory...I wonder what caused this to suddenly happen? (I haven't been caught up online for a little bit but I will want to dig for some answers.)

I have heard that a lot of platforms are getting stricter about showing NSFW content but the usage of the word yaoi here really.....

A big theory is the payment processors e.g. Mastercard cracking down on porn.

That was what I was seeing also (that it's pressure from the payment processors) but also apparently someone high-up at ebay is also involved in one of those conservative anti-porn groups; i dunno if he's someone who still has pull with the day to day operation of the company but that's an unsettling coincidence at least.

@friedgreenfujo For buying new titles, there will be no problem but for niche, older, OOP and imports, this is going to make things alot harder. I hate that everywhere is cracking down on everything.

yeah, being able to find OOP stuff and other more rare, niche items is definitely where this is going to hurt. It sucks, and I'm pretty mad about it! It's infuriating that the supposed purpose they keep swinging around is to protect people but these kinds of actions don't protect anyone, it's so pointless and frustrating.
