Sales and Specials
People here might already know, but Renta is having a Stay Home, Stay Safe special with free chaptkers: https://twitter.com/renta_yaoi/status/1252420991885512709?s=21
Also Lezhin is having a coinback sale for Angel Buddy: https://www.lezhin.com/en/page/sale_200424_coinback_1?lz_campaign=sale_200424_coinback_1&lz_banner=hero
@phya Is this actually feasible for them? It seems a bit strange to do it now, especially since someone has been ripping their manga recently.
Don't get me wrong, it's very kind of them, I'm just worried. I'd be happy to keep paying, but it seems even existing subscribers are getting a free month.
It probably has to do with the announcement they also had in their library.
Lastly, we would like to end on a positive note. Across the globe, people are staying inside, along with the phrase “Stay Home.” For all of us to prevent avoidable casualties and to overcome this situation, we must all work together and “Stay Home.” However, as the days and weeks pass, stress and uneasiness may emerge and linger.
Therefore, we have decided to make the futekiya Library free until the 31st of May.
Their twitter has mentioned something about wishing they could help more since they are only a BL publisher, so this seems to be their way to contribute. Also since they are still paying the artists and publishers, they are trying their to help them during this time too?
It’s sorta a risky move for sure though and probably comes down to if those people decide to keep subscribing to futekiya. Honestly, if they want something like futekiya to continue they ought to but people like free things...
Futekiya also posted they are delayed with some licensing supposed to happen this May, so the promo might've been their way to compensate for the trouble (or I'd say expectations?) Not everyone would mind daily updates either way with our shelves piling up 🤣
Their parent company (Fantasista) seems to have other businesses than manga, though I'm sure they will be affected by the crisis in some way...unless they got good backers.
They would have a rough idea of thier finances from the subscribers prior and how many people are on board.
Its acting a bit like a free trial while helping everyone with the Corona outbreak now we are getting further in. The amount of activity I've seen from twitter of new people reading and spreading is crazy. If only 20% of them continued subscribing it will be good but it's also made people more vocal about how they adore the arvice but want paypal as a payment option, hopefully leading to more subscribers in the future.
Changed this forum topic so it's sales and specials in general for now (still trying to figure out a better way to manage this )
June 20% sale from 7/2/2020 to 7/5/2020
