I was browsing some bara/geicomi doujins and I realized couriers are a common feature in such works (and BL in general). With the additional realization that gay porn also feature couriers in some form, I wonder how many tropes are shared between these two? Is it coincidental or there's shared influences?Salarymen BL is as comparable with the suit fetish but this specific trope (?) is fascinating to me.
Also does any of the major couriers in Japan know about these stories? Often I see characters in Sagawa's blue striped shirts, but not much as Yamato.
Bisexual porn is all 3somes...
and mmf stuff is way diff between all porny mediums.
straight guys is the most popular fetish in gay male porn right now. And there are a lot of straight BL characters. But are they in Geicomi?
I could sooner draw loads of parallels between gay films by gay people and BL.
But are they in Geicomi?
This is a good question. I can think of a couple of BL (though not Geicomi) but I want to do a little more research on Geicomi first.

I've seen a lot about Sagawa too and not much about Yamato.
The "Sagawa Dashi" looks pretty mainstream in Japan I guess like a character though I'm not sure why. It could be a marketing thing, cause Yamato is also called Kuroneko (I had to ask my friend who knows Japanese about it but I guess the cat is more important in marketing?)

Calendar???

I think for the calendar they vote who is going to be in it???
So maybe because the company thirsts (is that the right word for this) over the guys, people in BL and geicomi pick up on it more.

My bad, I was meaning the reverse - I saw way more Sagawa bara/geicomis vs. Yamato or even Amazon JP...
Thirst might be a funny term but it makes sense seeing all these marketing from the company. Logistics companies (at least from where I live) often feature couriers to make their services feel indispensable...or just give it a personal touch. E-commerce and restaurants feature couriers/delivery men in ads too even if many of them are contract/freelance workers and not necessary in-house...
Anyway it amuses me how Sagawa's couriers are imagined as very muscular men in doujins when real-life employees look pretty much typical Japanese...

The difference is so funny!!! Though the Sagawa danshi in the calendar look really nice and trustworthy so from a marketing POV it's smart.
There is also a Sagawa joshi photo book?????
