Adding publisher forums?

I've been thinking that there are some titles published by now-defunct publishers or publishers that only put out a handful of bl that I would like to talk about in a separate thread on here - titles from, like, One Peace Books (or even Kodansha and Yen Press, really). There's no good place for those threads now, but it seems potentially frustrating to have multiple subforums that at best might only have one or two threads apiece.

Would it be feasible to have an other publishers subforum as a sort of catch-all for the smaller/less active/inactive publishers? Or, I don't know, a defunct publishers subforum, an indie publishers subforum for the doujinshi places and the like, and then one for the mainstream publishers that don't put out much bl?

I think that sounds like a good suggestion. Right now you kinda just have to post in one of the general forums if your publisher-specific thread doesn't fit one of the existing ones. Maybe traffic for each current forum could be evaluated and see if some things could be condensed as well? Re-purposing some of the existing publisher forums might be less trouble than adding new ones and would help prevent forum bloat.

I'd maybe also like to see the separate webtoon platforms condensed into one general forum for all webtoon publishers or at least the addition of a general catch-all forum specific to webtoons for the ones that don't currently have their own forum. I think webtoons as an industry are really growing and it wouldn't hurt to have a place to discuss them specifically & talk about some of the newer/lesser-known platforms. There are probably some threads in the general discussion areas that could even be moved into it (I know of at least two because I started them lol).

An idea might be a top-level manga publisher forum with specific publishers that are active enough to warrant it getting subforums underneath it, and the same model for webtoons. (Sorry I'm just in a reorganization mood -- my bathroom medicine cabinet, your BL forum, it's all fair game)

All of these sound like a good idea! I'll take a look at the forums we have right now and think of a way to reorganize it with the system we have now.

Sorry for the double post!

I think I will condense the publishers forums and divide up between manga, webtoon, and then other (if there are other things related to publishers that don't fit into either?)

I'll clean it up a little bit and people can let me know how it looks?

This sounds good! There's always so many potential ways of organizing stuff, it's definitely something that's more art than science, and separating forums more by media type sounds promising.

@jessinbooks friedgreenfujo Got to it a little later than expected because of work. I did the broad divisions by publisher and moved the older conversations into it. Those are sub-forums, but in these new categories, you can create new threads now more broadly defined. I'll keep tweaking it as needed, so leave any comments or suggestions.

@friedgreenfujo Glad to hear! If anything else should be fixed up or reorganized, just let me know. I am a little weak in the forum organization field, so any suggestions are welcome.
