Look, Yuki and Matsu is a classic. If you haven’t read this yet, what have you been doing with your life? It has some of the most beautiful art I’ve seen in manga overall, not just BL, and the characters are interesting and dynamic. The doctor’s earnest nature and Yuki’s savage beauty is a winning combination. Surprisingly, this manga is something of a yakuza story – but a historical one! I can’t think of anything quite like it, you seriously need to read this one.

Yuki and Matsu is a must read, no ifs, but plenty of butts and coconuts. When I say there is nothing else out there like it, I’m not lying. An unforgettable experience, beautifully artistic artwork and an ending I will never forget.

I didn’t expect to love this one as much as I did, I eagerly awaited it’s updates on futekiya! I can only agree with the other positive reviews that this one is absolutely a must read for everyone. It’s got it all– fantastic art, characters, and story. It’s unlike any other BL I had read before and I truly found myself enjoying every page of it.

Absolutely loved this. The art is gorgeous and unlike any other style you typically see in BL. Loved the characters, they all felt very dynamic. I thought any of the sex scenes in it were super sensual and hot even though the mangaka doesn’t really go explicit with them. A must read!!

    This BL is a masterpiece.

Definitely something special. It may not be for everyone’s tastes, but if you’re on the hunt for atypical BL this should serve very nicely. It’s not romantic in the usual sense, but that’s what makes it all the more romantic to me.

The unusual premise/setting and art style might be what first catches the eye, but what makes this really special is the characters. We get to know our two leads very well, of course. Yuki especially is very memorable thanks to his past internal conflicts and present external conflicts. However, the small supporting cast is nicely fleshed out as well, enough to get you invested in their stories too. I also liked that many of the characters here aren’t 100% good or 100% bad people. They are just people doing the best they can to secure what they want in a tough world.

Anyway, if anything about this manga intrigues you, give it a shot. You likely have never read another BL like it.
