Ayu Yamane really knows how to craft a short story! Moja and I is one of my favourites of hers, I have come back to it many times. It’s both a very good BL and a story about what success and fulfillment mean in life. It’s a bittersweet, yet uplifting tale for sure.

Holy moly, there’s a lot packed into this short story. Each of the leads’ distinct personalities. Moja’s arc with trying to reconcile his artistic ambitions with earning money. The simple acceptance from the mother. All so good.
This isn’t a romance — it’s following an established couple, and it’s more about finding balance in your working life and creative life as an artist than it is about love. Even still, you can really tell how much the leads care for each other.
All in all, definitely worth checking out. It likely won’t even take you 10 minutes to read, but it will give you something to think about.

Ah, what a great experience to read Japanese manga, even if it’s short. Like their other works, Ayu Yamane focuses on a social issue here – how creating art is oftentimes an unrewarding experience. I would love to see a full story about the characters, especially how they met.
