After Hiyakawa reveals that he makes his living by cursing people and then having them pay to lift the curses, Mikado is faced with a moral dilemma. Instead of leaving Hiyakawa, he decides to stay with him in hopes of making him understand the consequences of his actions—and out of fear of losing the one person who fully understands him.
