A lone wolf with a delinquent streak, Kashima enters high school with a reputation that scares off his classmates. Little do his classmates know, Kashima is not a typical delinquent: he is a masochist that enjoys being hit by guys. Ryouji Sanada, despite Kashima’s reputation, goes out of his way to talk to Kashima on the first day of high school. Confused by Ryouji, Kashima rebuffs his handsome classmate. But, when Ryouji intervenes in one of Kashima’s fight (and attempt to get off), Kashima realizes that Ryouji might just have a secret “perversion” too…

A delinquent masochist who gets into fights because he loves being hit? Hell yes, bring it on!

I wasn’t as into the other guy, his obsession with the delinquent boy’s beautiful face didn’t come off as kinky as they tried to sell it as, but it’s a fun manga with a big heart so I’ll forgive it for that. The translation for this is lots of fun too! It has a natural, playful rhythm to it.

I really did not expect this manga to be such a slow burn on the relationship side and I love it! It deserves the spicy rating Futekiya gave it and honestly I went in figuring this was another smut comic but was pleasantly surprised by the boys’ innocence toward their feelings and how it has really taken the time to build up a connection between them. Really enjoyable and I’m looking forward to the next chapters!

This title piqued my interest after doing well on this year’s Kono BL ga yabai list. Unfortunately, at first I had a hard time getting into the story. A masochistic bottom is definitely a trope I like especially when the top isn’t very sadistic like in this series, but even so something in the first book felt a bit jarring for me. Maybe it was how I felt like something was lacking in the main characters’ dynamic or how I didn’t like how much it was highlighted that these are some perverted kinks. Kinks are normal so it kind of rubs me the wrong way if they’re presented as something pervy or special, even if it’s done in a good way.

However, I enjoyed the second and third books way more. My problem with the characters’ chemistry was gone once they started to develop feelings for each other. The romance aspect is slow burn and honestly I was surprised how much I enjoyed their relationship once it went past kink fulfillment. The sex scenes started to feel better too and the approach to kinks felt more natural. It’s almost funny how much the series improved in my opinion after the first volume. I think the story deserves the praise it gets and I’m really looking forward to the next book, whenever that may release.
