Now this was a surprise! I didn’t expect much at all going in, but wow, this is fantastic. It’s a long-term story about the complex relationship between a young man and a ballet prodigy, stretching from their first meeting to many years later. Forget two ships passing in the night, this is a bittersweet manga about regret, desire, and missing the same connection over and over but desperately wanting it. One of the most emotionally satisfying reads I’ve had in a very long time. It would make a terrific film.
