There are a lot of things that Kouki doesn’t have – no hobbies, no friends, no lover, no stable job, and no will to live. So when a random tussle with some kids gets him stabbed, he thinks maybe this is finally his ticket out of this crappy life. But just as he’s about to pass out he sees a beautiful “angel”… How is Kouki supposed to cope when less than a month later, he’s mysteriously healed, has astronomical bills to pay, and suddenly has the same beautiful angel as his amnesiac roommate?

I love this manga so much!! It’s a beautiful story about making the best of a bad situation, improving your life and trying to become a better person for someone else. The romance side is more subtle than in other BL and the story focuses more on developing the characters and their dynamics but I think that makes it a manga that can be enjoyed even by people who don’t read much BL or romance in general. The art is gorgeous, and the story moved me to literal tears, which doesn’t happen that often! It deals with some hard topics like death, violence or bullying, but it also has some really funny moments and the tone is more hopeful and bittersweet than outright tragic. It got voted as the best BL of 2020 in futekiya and imo it’s totally deserved!

A striking and beautiful story that rightfully deserves every praise it gets. It has a different dynamic than most BL out there, and some of the topics in it can be hard to take. What I’d like to add is that Kouki living in a single-room apartment, all alone and struggling strangely translated well into a lot of people’s current situation in pandemics. A must-read even for non-BL readers!
