I really liked this manga, and I hope the second volume gets translated at some point! It’s unusual in plenty of ways (set in the US, one of the main characters is overweight, etc.) and it was really neat reading something a bit different. I liked the story and characters, and the art is great. Noticing details in the backgrounds was really fun, like all the CD album covers.

Great if you’re looking for something different from most BL. This has more of a melodramatic-but-still-serious gay indie film vibe than anything else. Enjoyed the characters a lot, especially Angel’s gal friend Lucy. Very emotional, especially if you relate a lot to lonely, insecure adult characters.
My quibble with the series is that I had a hard time suspending my disbelief for certain elements – particularly Julio’s situation with his brother/how he first meets Angel and the fact that (so far as we know in this volume) Julio doesn’t have a single inkling yet that Angel is still in high school. Didn’t ruin the manga for me at all, but there were definitely parts that took me out of the story because I was too ??? to keep reading right away.
