Honey Sword by Wasou Miyakoshi

(1 customer review)

When Fujimori enters college, he starts going to kendo class, five years after he quit during junior high school. It all started again with an invitation from the “genius swordsman”, Sagimiya. Despite Fujimori’s nervous and formal attitude, Sagimiya doesn’t stay away. What could his true feelings for Fujimori be? The author’s unique and poetic style has attracted an army of fans. It’s a romantic boys-love kendo story!

Kendo pops up regullarly as reason for a character to look cool and have people sworn over them but I’m struggling to think of how may series have had it as the actual focus. I’m a sucker for a series that will show me something different than the same old stuff. While it does make it stand about, it has nothing in it that truely shines. Thier relationship I feel could be deeper, Sagamiya never actually tells Fujimori that he’s been in love with him for 5 years (could have scored major points in the feels department here) and the smut scenes are pretty standard.
